Terms of service

The agreement#

Joined is provided by Mission Ready Strategies ([OWNER TO CONFIRM: legal entity name and type]), called “we” or “us” here. By creating an account or using Joined, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy policy.

If you set up Joined for a church, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms for it, and “your church” means that church. Everyone on your church’s team agrees to these terms when they sign in.

You must be at least [OWNER TO CONFIRM: minimum age] to create a Joined account.

Early access#

Joined is opening to churches in stages. Requests for early access are reviewed by our team, and we invite churches as we are ready for them. Features may change, and some described on our site may not be available yet.

Accounts and sign-in#

Sign-in is provided by Clerk. Joined accounts are by invitation, from a church that uses Joined or from our early access list. Keep your sign-in details to yourself and use two-step verification where you can. You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us right away if you think someone else has used it.

Your church’s owners decide who joins its team and what each person can see and do. Owners are responsible for removing people who should no longer have access.

Your church’s data#

Your church owns the records it keeps in Joined. You give us permission to store, process and show them only as needed to run Joined for you, as our Privacy policy describes.

Your church is responsible for what it enters: that it has the right to keep it, that it is accurate, and that it gives people, including parents and guardians, any notice or consent the law requires. People with export access can download your church’s people list as a spreadsheet at any time.

Acceptable use#

Use Joined for your church’s ministry and administration. Do not use it to break the law, harass anyone, send spam or messages people didn’t agree to receive, store information you have no right to keep, or collect payments for anything other than your church.

Do not try to get into another church’s data or anyone’s account, get around Joined’s permissions, disrupt or overload the service, or copy or resell it. We may suspend access that puts other churches, their people or the service at risk.

Kids check-in#

Joined helps your team check children in and out, print matching labels and see allergies. It supports your church’s child safety procedures and does not replace them. Your church remains responsible for supervising children, confirming who picks them up, and keeping allergy and care details current.

The assistant#

If your church uses Joined’s assistant, check its answers before you rely on them: it can be wrong. It saves nothing until a person on your team confirms what it proposes, and that person is responsible for the change.

Plans, billing and renewals#

Joined charges nothing during early access, and we collect no payment details. Paid plans are not open yet. We will tell church owners before any church can be charged, and these terms will be updated then.

When paid plans open, Joined will be billed month to month through Stripe, on Mission Ready Strategies’ Stripe account. A new church will start with a free trial that needs no card, and nothing is charged until an owner subscribes. Your subscription will renew each month, and Stripe will charge the payment method on file, until an owner cancels.

Adding a module will charge a prorated amount for the rest of that month. Turning a module off stops access to it right away, takes it off your next invoice and keeps its records. An owner will be able to cancel from Billing at any time; your church keeps access until the end of the month you’ve paid for, and your records are kept.

Refunds: [OWNER TO CONFIRM: refund policy]. If we change our prices, we will tell church owners at least [OWNER TO CONFIRM: notice period] before the new price applies to your church.

Online giving#

When your church takes gifts online through Joined, each gift is charged on your church’s own Stripe account, which your church connects to Joined or creates through Stripe. Your church is the merchant, and gifts go to your church, not to us. Joined charges no fee on gifts; Stripe charges its own processing fees under your church’s agreement with Stripe. Your church is responsible for its Stripe account, refunds and disputes with givers, and giving statements and tax receipts. Joined records gifts to help with that work.

Our access to your data#

Mission Ready Strategies operates Joined. When your church uses Joined, authorized Mission Ready Strategies staff may access your church’s data and your members’ information to provide support, fix problems, maintain and secure the service, and meet legal obligations.

Only staff who need it for those purposes have this access, and we keep an internal record of it. Staff can open your church with an owner’s access or sign in as one of your team. Your church is not notified each time staff access its data. We do not sell your church’s data. The Privacy policy explains this in more detail.

Changes to Joined#

We improve Joined over time and may add, change or remove features. We aim to keep Joined available at all times, but it may occasionally be down for maintenance or reasons outside our control.

Ending your use of Joined#

Your church can stop using Joined at any time. You can each delete your own account from your account settings.

We may suspend or end a church’s access if it breaks these terms, doesn’t pay, or puts others or the service at risk. Where we can, we will warn you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

If we end your access, or stop offering Joined, we will give your church at least [OWNER TO CONFIRM: export window] to export its records, unless the law or a serious risk prevents it.

Disclaimers#

Joined is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent the law allows, we make no promises beyond those in these terms, including that Joined will be uninterrupted, error free or suited to a particular purpose.

Limits on liability#

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost data, revenue or gifts, arising from your use of Joined.

Our total liability for any claim about Joined is limited to [OWNER TO CONFIRM: liability cap].

Governing law#

These terms are governed by the laws of [OWNER TO CONFIRM: governing-law state], without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the courts of [OWNER TO CONFIRM: venue for disputes].

Changes to these terms#

If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top. If a change is significant, we will tell church owners by email or in Joined at least [OWNER TO CONFIRM: notice period] before it takes effect. Using Joined after that means you accept the new terms.
