Groups

Help everyone find their people.

Every group with its leader, meeting day and place. Leaders take roll call in a few taps, members see their groups in the church app, and your staff can see who has been missing.

A coffee table set for a small group: a stack of three study books, a plate of chocolate chip cookies, and a phone propped against the books, open on the Groups tab of the Cedar Hill church app: Your groups, Wednesday youth meets in Youth room and Young adults in North café. Behind them floats the church's list of groups at the Downtown campus: Men's breakfast, 7 members, roll call 1 day overdue; Newcomers class, 3 members, no roll call yet; Wednesday youth, 7 members, roll call 2 days overdue.

Roll call

Attendance before the coffee gets cold.

Leaders open the meeting, mark who came and add any guests. When they save, each person’s record shows they were there, and your staff sees it right away.

  • Mark all present in one tap, then turn off anyone who missed
  • Add guests by name, whether they’re in People or brand new
  • Each visit lands on the person’s timeline in People
A small group table: an open Bible with a pen, a white mug and a denim-blue mug, and the roll call "Who came to Wednesday youth?" for Wednesday, Sep 23 in the Youth room, 6 here, with Marcus Alvarez and Hannah Carter ticked here and Marcus Carter not marked, beside the roll call's Anyone new? part: Sam Rivera, added by name as a new guest, above the Add a guest by name field.

Welcoming new people

From first visit to a seat at the table.

When a guest asks about groups, someone on your team owns the next step. Your staff can see who is new, who has been called, and who has found a group.

  • A follow-up with an owner and a due date for each new person
  • New, contacted and connected, so no one is left waiting
  • Every call and visit saved on the person’s record
A paper connect card reading "Glad you're here!" with Maria Lopez written on the name line and two boxes checked, I'd like to join a group and Tell me about kids ministry, a pen resting on it and a caramel-glazed mug of coffee beside it. Above floats the People follow-ups list for the Downtown campus, each follow-up on a track from New guests to Contacted, Connected and Done: Call Maria Lopez, with You, a new guest, overdue; Welcome note to the Okafor family, Owen Okafor with Jordan Kim, contacted, due today; and Invite the Alvarez family to lunch, Marcus Alvarez with Sydney Carter, connected, due Sep 29.

Group health

See who’s connected, and who’s drifting.

Every roll call updates a person’s last visit. Reports show how each group is doing, and a saved view lists everyone not seen in a month, so someone can reach out while it’s still a quick call.

  • Attendance rate for every group, over the range you choose
  • How many adults are in a group, and what share of your church that is
  • A People view of everyone not seen in 30 days
A closed notebook and a pen beneath two cards. The Groups report for the last 90 days at the Downtown campus shows a 67% attendance rate, down 2 points on the previous 90 days, and the attendance rate by group: Men's breakfast 71%, Women's Bible study 69% and Newcomers class 67%. In front, Not seen in 30 days, 7 people, lists Hannah Carter and Hannah Lopez, each last here Aug 21, with a Reach out button.
