Giving

Every gift, handled with care.

Every gift in one list, whether it came online, by check or in cash. Match each one to the right person, reconcile each Sunday’s batch and send year-end statements. Only the people you choose can see any of it.

A church treasurer's desk: an open laptop showing the Joined Giving page with 2 batches to finish and $1,345 in open batches: the Sunday offering counted, the Online gifts deposited with 3 gifts to match, and 8 Sunday batches reconciled, beside giving by fund and by method for the last 30 days. In front lies a printed 2026 giving statement for Hannah Carter, $900 in 7 gifts, with a green pen across it. Two cards float in front: Giving at Cedar Hill, giving is kept to the people who count it, and a role without Giving is told an owner can add it; and the Online gifts batch after a match, a $120 online gift written as M. Shah matched to Marcus Shah for the General fund, with Undo.

Gifts and funds

Every gift in one list.

Online, check and cash gifts sit in one list, each with its giver, amount, fund and date. Filter by fund or date range, and export the list whenever your bookkeeper asks.

  • Online, check and cash gifts in the same list
  • Each gift kept to its fund: General, Missions or Building
  • A gift from someone new is kept until you match it
A phone on a small oak stand showing the Giving tab of the Cedar Hill church app: $650 given in 2026 in 5 gifts, the 2026 statement to download as a statement or CSV, and the gifts Cedar Hill has recorded; a neat stack of Cedar Hill offering envelopes; and a card for the Sunday offering batch, counted 3 days ago: $750 in 5 gifts, counted and waiting to be marked deposited, then reconciled.

Sunday batches

Counted, deposited, reconciled.

Count with two people, as you always have, and enter the offering as a batch. Mark it deposited when it goes to the bank, then match every gift to a person and reconcile.

  • Each batch keeps who counted it and what it holds
  • A batch reconciles only after it’s deposited and every gift is matched
  • Thank-you emails for matched gifts, skipping anyone marked do not contact
A zippered canvas deposit bag with a small stack of personal checks resting on it, the top one a $100 check to Cedar Hill Church signed H. Carter, for the General fund. Above them float two cards from Joined Giving: a gift that needs a person, the $100 check gift written as H. Carter for the General fund, with Hannah Carter of The Carter family suggested and Match and Someone else buttons; and the Sunday offering batch counted September 14, $1,470 in 15 gifts, counted, deposited and reconciled, split by fund into General $845, Missions $425 and Building $200.

Year-end statements

Statements ready when January comes.

Every matched gift lands on the giver’s statement. Email everyone’s at once, download one for the family who asks, or export a summary for your records.

  • Every emailed statement is logged on the giver’s record
  • Givers with no email, or marked do not contact, are skipped
  • Members download each year’s statement from the church app
A phone showing the Giving tab of the Cedar Hill church app: gifts show once Cedar Hill records them and the app doesn't take gifts; $650 given in 2026 in 5 gifts, the 2026 statement to download as a statement or CSV, and the recorded gifts, $300 online to Building, $25 by check to Missions and $200 online to General. A printed copy of Daniel Carter's 2026 giving statement, $650 in 5 gifts, lies beside it with a green pen.

Dignity and privacy

What someone gives stays private.

Giving is between a person, God and the few people you trust with it. You decide which roles can see gifts, and everyone else sees none of it.

  • At first, only your church’s owner can see giving
  • Administrators and billing managers don’t get it by default
  • Giving is a sensitive permission, granted only by someone trusted to
Cedar Hill Church's roles in Joined settings, Team and roles: Administrator, ordinary administration, sensitive access and spending stay separate; Billing manager, product subscription and invoices, no donor or giving access; Staff, permitted operational work; each built in. In front floats Avery Brooks access: Staff, entire church, 15 of 62 permissions apply here; Giving: View, not here; People: View, allowed. Below rest a green padlock and its key.
